Pete Aston
Pete was previously Primary System Design Team Manager for WPD (now NGED). He was responsible for all connections to, and the ongoing design of, the HV and EHV network (11kV to 132kV). In overseeing the Primary System Design function for the UK’s largest distribution network operator, he had ultimate responsibility for all connection offers as well as ownership of the relationship with National Grid across the distribution/transmission boundary – and the rollout of Active Network Management (ANM) across WPD’s entire network. Pete’s technical understanding, his deep understanding of DNO commercial drivers, behaviours, policies and personalities, and his understanding of the regulatory framework is extreme and, arguably, unrivalled.
